Founded in 1951, the International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism (AIEST) is dedicated to improving the worlds travel and tourism industry through analysis of trends and latest developments in tourism and farsighted solutions for problems as they arise.

The AIEST attracts junior as well as senior members from both Academia and Practice.

Our members benefit from a social network platform for frequent friendly contacts among world wide experts and for international scientific and practical exchange.

The BEST CONTRIBUTION AWARD goes to Juan Gabriel Brida, Leonardo Moreno and Miriam Scaglione for their paper

  • Petr Štumpf and Petr Janeček for their paper "System dynamic ace for destination managers: Online software DestinACE for decision-making support"
  • Alice Wanner and Ulrike Pröbstl-Haider for their paper "Walking on sunshine: Application of choice experiments to understand impacts by climate change on tourism attractions in Lower Austria".

The PETER KELLER AWARD for the best contribution uniting theory and practice goes to Petr Štumpf and Petr Janeček for their paper "System dynamic ace for destination managers: Online software DestinACE for decision-making support".

The AIEST PHD AWARD for the best PhD candidate contribution goes to Adrian Müller and Alexander Stauch for their paper "Switching tracks: Guiding employees towards low-carbon business travel choices".
1st and 2nd runner ups are (respectively):

  • Nele Langebraun, Alessandra Pozzan, Michael Gibbert and Slivia de Ascanii for their paper "Using context for theorizing in qualitative tourism research: an empirical review and research agenda".
  • Florian Gasser for his paper "Follow me to your dream destination. Behavioral analysis of effects of persuasion disclosure and number of followers on followers' purchase intention and decision within tourism".
